Towards smarter machines

Shifting to a smarter technology brings in many advantages. Shandar Alam elaborates on smart hydraulics and its advantages in the current industry scenario.

OEMs are looking for more robust hoses

Eaton has a wide range of product offerings in fluid conveyance that meets the need for innovative products at optimised cost and NVH performance.

Advances in hydraulics making machines smarter

Boom control has continued to improve in general, but precision boom movement still has room to advance. A significant step forward in boom control uses load feedback from pressure sensors to change how the machine reacts to various operator inputs.

Hydraulic Hoses & Fittings

Hydraulic hose and fittings is one of the most important components in fluid power transmission. Selection of the right hose depends on various factors viz, operating pressure range, temperatures, abrasion resistance, and application and flow requirements. One should also consider the type of fluid conveyed and the application.

Aligned with CE Growth

High pressure, large diameter and volumetric capacity hoses fitted with appropriately speced fittings and protection covering are key ingredients for heavy construction and mining machinery. Such hoses have endured extreme usage under adverse to poor operating cycles and environment.

We are working on efficiency, reliability and productivity improvement.

Eaton has a range which can encompass the hydraulic, mechanical and electrical power, and we can offer entire system solutions,"says Nitin Chalke, Managing Director - India, Eaton. Excerpts from the interview.

Hose condition monitoring system

Eaton offers LifeSenseTM, a patented hydraulic hose condition monitoring system. It is a cutting edge technology with a combination of diagnostic and alert system. It uses a sensor on every hose to pinpoint impending hose failure through a proprietary decision engine. A hose condition sensor continuously monitors hose conditions via electrical measurement technology. A Hose Diagnostic Unit (HDU) interprets this data and alerts users well in advance of impending hose failure. It is a built in saf
